Arsenal are ready to offer Alexis Sanchez to Monaco in their bid to sign Thomas Lemar in January, according to reports.

Arsene Wenger missed out on a deal for the France international on deadline day but is expected to reignite his interest in the next

Arsenal had a £92 million offer for Lemar accepted by Monaco but the midfielder opted to stay with the French champions for another season.

The Sun now claims that Wenger is fully aware that Sanchez will not renew his contract, which expires at the end of the campaign, and is now prepared to use the Chilean as a makeweight in January.

Sanchez was on the brink of joining Manchester City but Arsenal pulled the plug on the £60 million deal on deadline day due to their failure to sign Lemar.

But despite Sanchez’s desire to quit Arsenal, Wenger has publicly claimed that he feels the 28-year-old could extend his deal.
